What to Expect During a Session

Drinking plenty of water the day before and the day of will help release the toxins, blockages and allow the energy to flow through your body better.


Generally, you can expect the Reiki practitioner to discuss your reasons for being there. You will lie on a massage table on your back, fully dressed with your shoes off. There will be relaxing soft music playing. The practitioner will place their hands a few inches over your body, using gentle movements to channel energy. The practitioner will start at the head and move their way to the feet. Touching only the head, shoulders, knees and feet. During the session, some feel warm energy flowing through their body, some see colors, some feel tingles and the gift of peace and relaxation come to the receiver. Even if there is nothing felt or seenĀ during the session, rest assured that the energy is flowing and healing has begun. Remember, that Reiki heals every level body/mind/emotional/spiritual. Once the session is complete, the practitioner will touch your shoulder to let you know the session is done. You will be instructed to lay for a few minutes before sitting up. The practitioner will then review the session and answer any questions. Once again, you will be instructed to drink more water along with along with other instructions the practitioner is guided to give. A session will generally last 1-1.5 hour.
